About Virgin Voyages

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a 5-night journey on the Scarlet Lady, the first cruise ship from Virgin Voyages, and it exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped on board, I was impressed by the modern and stylish design of the ship. What truly sets Virgin Voyages apart is their commitment to sustainability and inclusivity. The ship is designed with environmental consciousness in mind, from the elimination of single-use plastics to the use of energy-efficient technology. Additionally, the cruise line is dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests.

Cabins

The cabin was spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and a beautiful view of the ocean. Almost every balcony cabin has a hammock on the balcony. With tablets in the cabin that controls many of the room features, it was a very tech-savvy way to cruise. The only disappointment I had with the cabin was the size of the bathroom. I was in a Sea Terrace and the bathroom is quite tight. I recommend that guests book an XL Sea Terrace or higher category to ensure a larger bathroom.

Dining

The dining options on the ship were outstanding, with a variety of restaurants to choose from, including Korean BBQ, a steakhouse, and a pizzeria. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. One of my favorite experiences on the ship was dining at the Gunbae, where the chef cooks your meal right at the table while guests at the table play drinking games. The differentiating feature with Virgin Voyages from other mainstream cruise lines is that there is no main dining room. Instead, there are numerous specialty dining restaurants throughout the ship and they are all included in the cruise cost.
