TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ALL TRAVEL BOOKED THROUGH JANELLE ANDREWS AND ASSOCIATES / CRUISE PLANNERS
••••
Due to state regulations, we must have the following forms completed before documents are prepared:
- Credit Card Authorization
- Travel Protection Waiver (*NOT required if you purchase a travel protection plan)
GENERAL LIABILITY STATEMENT:
Your Cruise Planners travel advisors, Janelle Andrews, June Cameron, and Michelle Maynard, are acting as an agent for cruise lines and tour operators when booking reservations for travel-related services such as air and ground transportation, hotel accommodations, meals, tours, cruises, and excursions. Travel services are not directly supplied by Janelle Andrews, June Cameron, or Michelle Maynard / Cruise Planners. Therefore, Janelle Andrews, June Cameron, Michelle Maynard / Cruise Planners shall not be responsible for breach of contract, failure to comply with any laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any intentional or negligent actions or omissions on the part of the suppliers of travel services that result in any loss, damage, delay, inconvenience or injury to travelers or travelers’ companions or group members.
It is the traveler's responsibility to check travel.state.gov for current travel alert warning levels and requirements. It is the traveler's responsibility to determine their eligibility to travel based on their personal background, including any misdemeanors or felonies that may restrict their ability to travel on a specific itinerary or enter certain destinations.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
The purchase of Travel Protection is strongly recommended.
Allianz travel protection or supplier travel protection will be quoted when submitting deposit and/or immediately before final payment. Insurance provided by Allianz is comprehensive and includes coverage for cancellation, travel delays, airline issues, and medical while on your trip -- for qualifying reasons. If a member of your family falls seriously ill, requiring you to stay at home -- as verified by a doctor -- you can file a claim for cancellation. Travel vendor bankruptcy protection is provided, for approved travel vendors, when a policy is purchased within 14 days of deposit. If the insured trip is cancelled, and a claim has not been filed, the insurance policy can be applied to a different trip that takes place within 770 days of policy purchase. The insurance policy can be refunded within 14 days of purchase only.
PAYMENTS:
Payments are accepted by credit or debit card only. Personal checks, cash, money orders and bank checks are not accepted. For liability reasons, a secure Credit Card Authorization form must be returned prior to payment. Every new credit card will require a new credit card authorization. Credit and debit card numbers will not be accepted by phone.
CHANGE AND CANCELLATION FEES ON ALL TRIPS:
All deposited trips are subject to change and cancellation fees, both by the suppliers and by Castaway Travel / Cruise Planners. Each supplier's fees will be listed in their terms and conditions. The fees charged by Castaway Travel / Cruise Planners (which are in addition to any supplier fee) are as follows:
- Changes of any kind to the reservation after deposited: $50/person
- Cancellation of a reservation: $100/person
REQUIRED TRAVEL ID FOR AMERICAN CITIZENS:
Cruises:
Travel ID is required for cruises that begin and end at the same AMERICAN port (called a closed-loop cruise):
*A regular passport (called a passport book) valid for a minimum of six months post-cruise
or
*A passport card
or
*TWO forms of matching ID: an original, certified, state-issued birth certificate (NOT hospital-issued), AND a matching government ID with photo, such as a driver's license. If the two forms of ID do not match, a bridge document is necessary, such as a marriage certificate.
Children 15 and younger: A passport valid for a minimum of six months post-cruise, or an original, certified, state-issued birth certificate (not hospital-issued).
Exceptions: Cruises that stop at the following destinations require a passport even on closed-loop cruises: Costa Rica, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, St. Bart’s, St. Martin, Trinidad and Tobago. Note: Labadee, which is Royal Caribbean’s private resort in Haiti, does not require a passport.
Additionally...
Please be aware that there are certain excursions on an Alaska cruise that enter Canada. On these excursions a passport book or passport card will be required, regardless of age.
Important: If you must cut your cruise short for any reason, such as an emergency back home, an illness during your trip, or a missed port -- requiring you to fly home -- you will always be required to have a PASSPORT BOOK to re-enter the United States by air from any foreign country, regardless of age.
Travel ID required for one-way cruises:
A regular passport (passport book) valid for at least six months post cruise.
Land travel outside the United States:
A passport book valid for a minimum of six months post-travel is required. A visa may also be necessary; this information will be shared at the time of your booking.

ENTRY INTO CANADA FOR US CITIZENS:
IMPORTANT MESSAGE regarding Alaska, Northeast, some Hawaii and West Coast sailings.
Guests with past criminal charges or convictions can be refused entry into Canada, regardless of how long ago they occurred. Felony convictions, including DUI, DWI, reckless driving, negligent driving, and misdemeanors like drug possession, shoplifting, theft, etc., make a person inadmissible to Canada. Boarding can be denied by the cruise line and the Canadian government, even if you do not plan to disembark at a Canadian port.
Entry into Canada is solely determined by Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) officials in accordance with Canadian law.
This regulation could impact guests that are visiting Canada on the following itineraries (even if you don't plan to get off of the ship in Canada):
* Alaska cruises that visit Victoria, Canada and Vancouver, Canada
* Hawaii cruises that visit Vancouver, Canada
* New York, Boston, Canada Cruises
* Any cruise that calls on a Canadian port
For details, visit the Canada Border Services Agency website at www.cbsa.gc.ca. If you have a criminal record, you must investigate your eligibility to travel on the trip.
TRAVELING WITH MINORS:
If you are traveling with a minor who is not your own child or for whom you do not have full legal custody, you may be asked by officials for an authorization form. Canada is VERY strict about this issue. You may or may not be asked to present it, but you do not want to be caught without it.
PREGNANCY:
Those entering their 24th week of pregnancy are not allowed on most cruise lines, and a doctor's note indicating week of pregnancy is usually requested by cruise line officials at check-in. Travelers who are at least 28 weeks pregnant should check with airlines on restrictions/medical certificate requirements as airline rules differ.
Flights & Air Carriers:
All flight times, itineraries, carriers, equipment, and check-in times are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Guest should contact the airline within twenty-four hours of departure to confirm flight times, itineraries, and check-in. Certain fare class (special fares) do not allow for upgrades, preferential seating and other auxiliaries. Cruise Planners is not responsible for any loss or injury to Guest for missed flights or connections, or if Guest is denied boarding. Guests with connecting flights should allow ample time for connections as specified by the airline and/or the connecting airport.
Check in for flights is generally 24 hours prior to departure. You should be at the airport at least 2 hours prior to domestic flights and 3 hours for international flights or your entry may be denied by the airline

As a first step in planning any trip abroad, check the Travel Advisories and Destination Health Issues for your intended destination. Also, check out the S.T.E.P program offered FREE by the government to share details of your trip for travel alerts and emergency contact information while traveling.
Carrying the proper travel ID, having permission to travel with minors not your own, carrying a note from your doctor if pregnant, and obtaining an approval for rehabilitation in order to visit Canada -- if necessary-- is strictly the responsibility of the traveler. Traveler also agrees to the general liability as indicated above, when booking through Janelle Andrews, June Cameron, and Michelle Maynard / Cruise Planners.
