The buffet was HUGE. But, if you saw something that looked good you better grab it because you may never find it again because it was so huge. All food was excellent. One gripe is that the 3 restaurants that we could go to all had the same menu each night. They changed the menu every night but all 3 restaurants were the same. Up charges at the other restaurants were insane. We didn't go to any of them.Our room was GREAT!!! I'm glad we upgraded. Also being on the 15th deck was convenient since the buffet and sky lounge were one floor above us. No waiting for an elevator. You mentioned when we booked that we might here noise from up there. We heard a little at times but it was no big deal at all. I'm glad that we didn't change rooms.
I thought that drinks were reasonably priced. Beer was $8. That's the same price as one of our favorite restaurants in New Berlin. But, we don't drink a lot. We didn't come close to using the amount charged for the beverage package.
The medallion device was neat. When you waked up to a bartender, they knew who you were. Easy to get off/on the ship.

Thanks to my always helpful and extremely knowledgeable travel agent, Janelle Andrews, all of the arrangements and preparation for my cruise went very smoothly. Janelle has always responded to any requests or questions I've had in record time. When I have encountered problems along the way, she has patiently listened to me sometimes venting about a problem and promptly offered to help me resolve it. I have given Uniworld a 10 out of 10 rating for this cruise - this is my third one with this company and they have never disappointed me. Unfortunately, my experiences with United Airlines were less than satisfactory. I booked Business class for each leg of my flight and for some reason, United managed to double-book my seat on flight UA144 from Newark to Porto. I was quite rudely kicked back into Economy seating and was not offered any compensation for this downgrade. It was the UA agents that were rude - the cabin crew were sympathetic to my situation but were powerless to correct it. For any future travel, I want to exclude United as a carrier unless they are the only possibility for making a connection. Again, I want to emphasize that Janelle, Cruise Planners and Uniworld gave me outstanding service. Also, the Air Canada flight from Lisbon to Montreal was a pleasurable experience. Janelle Andrews did an awesome job getting us ready for our Hawaiian cruise on the Norwegian Pride of America. Our flight, hotel, Tour of Pearl Harbor, and private ground transportation were flawless prior to the cruise. The ship worked well for us. It is a smaller ship but we were always able to get lounge chairs by the swimming pool and a seat at any of the bar venues on board. We were very happy with the staff on The Pride of America. Everyone was very friendly and hospitable. It was just enough structure without being overwhelming and the hotels she selected were GORGEOUS! Definitely missed the A/C but it was exceptionally warm for the time of year we were there. I just returned from the 15-day Uniworld "Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia and the Mekong" tour. Janelle worked with me throughout the entire process of planning this trip, from obtaining the required visas to finding the best way for me to connect with my flight at O'Hare, which is 2 hours away from where I live. Over many years, I had gotten used to the sometimes time-consuming process of researching destinations and the associated requirements using Expedia and other online travel tools. Janelle responded quickly to every question I posed to her and anticipated my needs for information sometimes before I even asked. Suffice it to say that I am now spoiled and intend to use her and Cruise Planners for every major vacation I plan to take in the future. We recently completed a 10 day British Isles cruise and while we hit a few bumps in the road due to unexpected flight delays, bad weather and airport issues, our travel agent Janelle Andrews was there for us every step of the way. We had trouble uploading photo copies of our passports to United Airlines before our trip (she was able to assist), had trouble connecting with our driver when we landed at Heathrow due to our flight being slightly delayed (she facilitated the communication between us and the driver); had ports with scheduled excursions cancelled due to the weather and were diverted to Liverpool (Janelle was able to arrange a private tour of Liverpool for us). Before we left she assisted us with hotel and tour reservations in London and Amsterdam as we added days to our vacation before and after the cruise. She also advised us that there were issues at Schiphol Airport and that we probably needed to be picked up earlier than planned so we changed to an earlier pickup time and were able to make it to our gate 30 minutes before boarding while others in line likely missed their flights. I am so grateful for Janelle. I gave her very short notice of a desired type of vacation for a group of 7 (4 adults + 3 teens). I didn't really care where we went but wanted a beach destination that offered plenty of options for us to do things as a group as well as "do our own thing". In no time at all, Janelle had a trip planned for St. Pete Beach, FL! She had all the travel itineraries taken care of down to every detail. When our flight landed, I received a text message from the driver letting me know he was there and how to find him. It was such a relief to not have to do all this stuff myself. Janelle's suggestion of St. Pete Beach was absolutely perfect for our group. Some of us love the sun & water and others not as much. The Rum Fish Resort offered great options for everyone, and we all had a great time. I was able to get in my much needed "R&R" as well as some fun stuff. Some of the things we did included an ocean wave runner tour, a day at Zoo Tampa, collecting sea shells, poolside activities, great dining options, and some really cool site seeing. My only disappointment is that we couldn't stay longer. I am not a big traveler and any past vacations/getaways I planned myself. We recently returned home from three cruises that took us to 10 ports throughout the Caribbean. Two of these were back-to-back cruises that Janelle helped us rebook after they were canceled in 2021. We had planned an Asian cruise with Janelle 6 months ago. All hotels, flights, parking and details were finalized. However, we decided to cancel that cruise less than a week we were scheduled to travel due to the coronavirus. Janelle went above and beyond, once again, spending countless hours figuring out cancellation policies, getting credits/money back working with the cruise line, airline and hotels to make the changes. There is no way we could have done all of that without her. Her contacts, knowledge, timely attention, understanding and patience are incredible. This trip has been on my bucket list for many years, and we finally made it happen. This was our first international flight and trip, and Janelle Andrews at Cruiseplanners, worked with me to set up exactly what I wanted to see and where I wanted to stay. The tour we booked, included all of the Wild Alantic way, and it was beautiful, and the guide was a local native, who gave us interesting information and took us to places that weren't crowded with tour buses. A special stop was planned so that we could take pictures with my daughter Shannon, next to the Shannon River! We stayed in a beautiful B&B, with a Host that was so friendly and gracious, we would stay there again. The rental car that was booked for us, was a brand new vehicle, and picking up the car and dropping it off was easier than anything we have ever done in the states. Janelle was always available to help or answer questions 24/7, which took away all of the worry in case something came up. We did have a question about our return flights, and Janelle answered by questions, even with a 6 hour time difference, and she stayed in touch with me throughout my flights until I landed back in the states. Her dedication to our trip and being there whenever we needed an answer took the stress away of flying internationally for our first time! The trip was awesome!We took the trolley every day to Duvall St. and had a great time (in retrospect we should have taken a Uber). The trolley was great for the tour/history of the island though so the one you booked was well worth it! The dolphin/snorkeling cruise was awesome-got some great photos. We also booked a sunset dinner cruise while we were there-that was nice too and the food and drinks well paid for the ticket.

Five of us couples celebrating either or both milestone of turning 60 years old and being married 35 years were planning an adventure to Iceland and Ireland. Always thinking we can do these things on our own, we spotted a Groupon Getaway for a 5-day trip to Iceland. Problem was, 2 of the couples were late to log in and the Groupon was sold out. Janelle was able to book the same hotel at the same time and sign up those 2 couples for the same excursions. Although the excursions ended up being with a different company, we were all together every evening and even overlapped at The Blue Lagoon so we could all spend much of our holiday together. All 5 couples added Ireland to the mix, the 2 couples went prior to Iceland and the other 3 of us afterward and Janelle planned transfers and excursions just perfectly based on our interests. Janelle helped my Husband and I book our Honeymoon. We came to Janelle with a blank slate and she helped us create the most memorable experience. Janelle took the time to understand our likes and listened to what was important to us. She presented us with great options and built us our dream vacation. Janelle was a pleasure to work with regarding all our cruise ship details. Everything from off ship excursions, special dinner reservations and hotel before we sailed. Wonderful trip, beautiful islands, Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios was the best! Food and beverage package is always a must, the dinning was everything I was looking for. A cruise is a very relaxing way to travel. The Norwegian Escape was a very nice ship, the crew were very friendly, and the ship was well kept. Not the most attractive ship I've been on, but nice!
